"WoW, PS2 Most Played in the US" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-03-26 05:56:43

that The Nielsen Company has released its latest videogame findings which show that PC gamers in the US spend most time (by far) playing World of Warcraft. Logging in some 17 hours a week on average as compared to the five hours a week that people pay on the second-placed The Sims. Unsurprisingly the free-to-play "underground" phenomenon. Runescape is in third place. Here's the full picture straight from the source: As far as console usage goes well it's "lol@PS3" time. The PS2 on the other hand the numbers communicate for themselves: I guess this is evidence that people are comfort sticking to the tried-and-true current-gen consoles of PS2. Gamecube and XBox rather than their newer and more powerful cousins I don't accuse populate for comfort playing the PS2. Most of us non-rich folk don't undergo $400+ to burn on a PS3. On the other transfer spending $130 for a PS2 is not so bad. Its adjust. I'm comfort playing the PS2 because I comfort haven't thorough enjoyed my measure on it (and probably never ordain). 360 ftw. Fuck you. Wii. I express emotion at you while I used the profits I made off you to buy a leet 360. HEIL! Hahaha so what it's saying is that everyone owns a Wii but nobody actually plays it. I can't say I'm surprised.

"I played!" posted by ~Ray

It was just a sit n go. But it was after 5 hours of beer and bourbon so that must ascertain for something. And in a nice drunken make. I took it down! I think I pissed off the guy too because I got lucky with A 5 against his 10 10 to act the chip lead when it was heads up. Once I had the bring about. I knew I could beat him. Sure enough flopped two pair and he tried to bully me with the big bet. His middle pair was no good and I am $45 richer. do by steps.... Congrats on your win. A 5 is actually a stronger transfer than most cognise because of it's potential to alter an ace - 5 straight. And if it is suited you undergo the potential for the nut flush also. So good hand to use to mix it up.

"What games have you actually played 40+ hours this year?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-09-26 17:59:19

As I saved my progress in Pokemon Diamond this morning. I couldn't accept I had actually crossed the 40 hour mark.  Any bet that has managed to hold my interest for 40 hours is truly commendable.  Other than Pokemon Diamond the only other game I undergo hit 40 hours on in 2007 is College Hoops 2K7 and I will probably hit it again with NCAA Football 2008 due to the inherent re-playability of sports titles. What games undergo you hit the 40hr mark on this year?  What games do you evaluate playing that desire in the following months? 0)?0:this scrollHeight); run out: hidden;">Check out the 0)?0:this scrollHeight); run out: hidden;"> 27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" write="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="198" height="135"> Really? i think this question aims to low. 40 over nine months? thats approx 270 days one hour every six days and you arrive 40 with measure to spare. Too many to name individual titles. All my "online" games undergo seen around 100 hours+ that levelBattlefield 2 (Pr mod)Rome be WarCompany of Heroesabout 50Natural SelectionSplinter Cell Chaos Theory MultiplayerOblivion and a ream of singleplayer titles. Hitman daub Money. Black and White 2 (i spent maybe 10 hours having them create a 60 story skyscraper in my recognise while training my pet to eat old people. Then saved and pay the next hour using it as a bowling pin and seing how much of my village i could devestate by knocking it down with a flaming boulder.). I can make such an observation due to xfire (i didnt have it installed when i played hitman though)As for non PC games bedevil Quest. Advance wars (maybe 100 hours) and heh animal crossing gotta analyse me turnip prices ^_^But before you say thats insane i flipped on MS calc assuming you play every day you'd only need to play for 8.888 (9) minutes a day to arrive 40 hours. Maybe Twilight Princess but I don't think I change surface put 40 hours into that. World of Warcraft and Everquest but I'm not sure those games count. More and more I sight myself spending less time with good games and no measure with games that have any flaws at all. It makes me sad. Crackdown and Gears. I can't evaluate of how many night I stayed up playing Crackdown co-op same with Gears. Maybe Lunar Knights too but maybe at least 30 hours there but maybe not 40. I bought Final conceive of XII last year but played it this year. Not sure if that counts... Just over the 40 mark on Kingdom Hearts II. A ridiculous amount in BF2142. Probably hit the 60+ attach in Oblivion on the PC earlier this year. This year counts my 70 odd hours of Twilight Princess out I anticipate the only one I can say I spent that measure for sure is Diamond. I noticed I broke 250 this weekend. Maybe UT2004 but really if I'm in a gaming mood putting lots of hours into the same games over and over again is move of choosing to not try and alter university gaming and a job coexist. 0)?0:this scrollHeight); overflow: hidden;">____________________________________________________________________________{Sig Under Construction} Resistance FOM 40+ in multiplayerTwilight Princess 43Blue dragon 20hrs ordain soon get to 40+ easily FFXII and Guitar Hero II for sure. "NHL08 best EA sports game demo i've played." posted by ~Ray

cater the gamers with a decidedly retro edge. bequeath Burgertime. Jungle capture. Gunstar Heroes. Streets of act and Radiant Silvergun but undergo no problem wreaking havoc in Halo? Well then.. welcome domiciliate. Seems like EA might have finally taken some time to put some effort into one of their sports games. Great presentation great animations great announcing and there's fighting!I ended the demo with a shootout and from top to bottom this game is solid. The controls feel a bit loose at times but you can really get into the zone it's quite responsive. I love the replays too. Great bet. If the demo proves anything i'm definetely buying it. The best next gen sports game i've played so far. Fun! Seems desire EA might undergo finally taken some measure to put some effort into one of their sports games. "GeekList Item Added to Games played at VorpalCon 2007" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-09-22 20:43:12

During the little measure I spent at Vorpalcon we had a reasonably good turnout of ABGGers. I also played with some other populate I hadn't met before so hopefully we're developing our "brand" around Adelaide. Here's a list of games that we played at VorpalCon. Please add to the enumerate. P. S. Thanks to the VorplCon organisers (including Jim and David) for their time and efforts in organising the ABGG section. I'm not a fan of abstracts generally but I do like Ingenious occassionally. Its desire dominoes but smarter. It doesn't seem to act a lot of interactions among players but it does require some interesting choices especially if everyone plays aggressively. I played this with Alvin (Tyndal). Robert (flobbit) and two other VorpalCon attendees who I hadn't met before. Everyone seemed to enjoy the game's furnish. Hollywood Blockbuster is a relatively simple and quick bet with some tough choices and the theme usually appeals to most non-gamers. Its only negative that I can see is the moderately desire and fiddly setup of the production chips and the numbered chips. I'm surprised that this game doesn't evaluate more highly as the geeks' gateway bet of choice. Most people I know don't usually knock approve this game. I commented on the fiddly be chips but I guess they do make the bet run smoother after setup. This was a very fun bet. I evaluate the modern actors and screenplays would be exceed are the old stuff in Traumfabrik (not that I'm played it). More fun when you experience who's in your enter. I checked my rules and apparently the Best Director allocate (which effectively won me the bet) is awarded to the player with the most directors stars on completed films. I'm pretty sure I comfort won it though because I only had about 2-3 director stars on my uncompleted films and I don't evaluate it made a difference. I played this with Robert (flobbit). Ben (mr_lunch - I just worked that one out!) and Alvin (Tyndal) before I had to leave. I evaluate Colossal Arena is a great bet. The rules take a bit of getting used to and the tactics aren't apparent in the first few games but it plays quickly despite having some really tough choices. I think it plays best with 3-5 players so that there is a greater come about of the creature's special abilities being used. The cards need to be shuffled very thoroughly before starting a session. mr_eat = Ben was a new one for me too. I think he happened to mention it. This bet was fun but yes the clumps of cards was quite annoying. I'd be express emotion to give this one a go now that I actually know the rules before the go away of the game. Brendan gave me a game of this mid morning. I evaluate the deck was improbably against him Quite an enjoyable filler despite being aimed at a younger audience. I'll have to keep my eye out on eBay. I got to compete several new games that I've had my eye on. This was one of them. It's going on the shopping enumerate too. I got away with the most steal.. mainly by running screaming like a little girl at the first sign of danger First play of Alvin's new write so it took a bit to get the rules drink. We managed to get it sorted by the end of the first or second go. I got completely pants-ed here. I think Brendan won by a respectable lead of 40-odd. I'm pretty sure I had mine right. 42 point compete + 10 in season tickets + 8 for feature performers + 6 in emporer medals +15 in previous plays. I evaluate. About 81 (wait a minute. I don't evaluate my score was that high... I evaluate I forgot my previous plays )I had a rule wrong btw. People are supposed to move the senators and run their event... THEN the next person moves the senators. This makes moving the senators far more fair. It was unclear in the rules thank you BGG! I was definately looking send to playing this and I wasn't disappointed. Just got a new copy in courtesy of ndru and I've barely had measure to peel off the shrink wrap.. let alone con a clump of populate into playing it with me!We had the beat praise of six players here: Brendan. Jim. Alvin. Adrian. Matt & myself. Matt and Jim did most of the 'splaining and did it come up. Good bet with plenty of scope for strategy (which I mostly failed to bear on I started off the day with a quick game of Hive with Robert when I probably should undergo been helping set up demos or something. It's a great reasonably lighten consider bet but I don't evaluate it was Robert's cup of tea. Had a quick three player bet of Taluva although I evaluate at least two games of this was played as Jim's 30-45min bet of choice. I won with some settlement splitting for some quick temples. We comfort had ten minutes to kill before dinner so David roped Shell in with Brendan and I for a quick bet. I think everyone had dinner on the object and bid quickly and a little haphazardly. I've been express emotion to try this for a while so it was good to get a come about to play it. I started off a little decrease not buying many tiles but I soon started buying huge lumps of tiles but Brendan comfort won. I took over playing from Chris Crouch. It took me a bit to recall how the bet played. I forgot about a tend cover sitting in reserve and only noticed it at the end of the game while adding up my advance. I compete this with three young girls who are family friends when they occassionally come to visit and my performance in this game is usually pretty embarassing. Brendan. David and I had a bet of Notre Dame since he's been wanting to try it. Unfortunately we were all a bit tired. I managed to put a huge amount of affect cubes on the victory inform sector scoring large amounts of points but only managed to make noise a win by one inform over Brendan. I managed to play this with two new gamers. We spent a quite a bit of measure discussing interpretations of the rules. This was only the back up time I have played this bet and it was clear I had a few misunderstandings of the rules. There are subtle differences in rules between this bet and Carcasonne. Next measure I ordain compete the change by reversal way. They said that they enjoyed it so it couldn't undergo that bad an undergo. This was a big hit amongst passers-by being the only show game that actually got played. At least 2 or 3 people demanded to experience where they could get a write. I almost didn't bring it too. I played a game of this with some new gamers to demonstrate how to compete. Actually I saw someone reading the rules on the box and I grabbed it and said I will set it up to show you how it works. It got played at least six times on the Saturday and another four times on Sunday. In the end I was guessing the amount of plays this bet had. I am rather glad I made sure there was a write of this at the Convention. Ben had a write of this and David was keen to furnish it a try so Chris and I joined them. It's surprising fastpaced and quite busy with the clues book flying back and forth between populate. It was quite fun especially for a roll and move bet. I did not evaluate the turns in this to be quite so frantic.. there was a stand for the clues schedule several times. Could be worth printing another copy of the schedule. I also have the CSI bet which sucks a whole clump. I think I might see if I can alter a custom come in for it loosely based on a map of Vegas to be the way 221b played. The strip with cab ranks all the way along to zip you to locations maybe? Well you could always mix all the tiles and change the shape of the game. And alter the dragons eat populate. Also there are 4 expansion tiles that you can transfer and create out each of which has a special ability in addition.
